With just weeks to go, registration is filling up fast for "Scaling Circular Investment: From Barriers to Opportunity", the final CircularInvest event taking place on 15 October 2026 at Maison Grand-Place in the centre of Brussels, a side event to the European Week of Regions and Cities.

Bringing together investors, circular entrepreneurs, city and regional representatives, policymakers, incubators, and innovation support organisations, the event will explore one central question: what is still preventing circular businesses from scaling in Europe, and what practical changes are needed to unlock circular investment at scale?

The programme will feature keynote discussions, startup case studies, interactive workshops, and cross-sector dialogue focused on investment, regulation, and the conditions needed for long-term circular growth.

The day will open with a discussion on enabling circular start-ups, moderated by Katrina Sichel, with contributions from Lucie Blondel, Policy Officer at the European Commission, and Luke Bailey, Senior Economist at Circle Economy Foundation. Participants will also hear first-hand experiences from CircularInvest beneficiaries, including Alasdair Hood (Recirculate Systems), Denisa Gibovic (Blue Room Innovation), and Joshua Linn (The Ocean Package).

A dedicated panel on the role of cities and regions in scaling circular start-ups will bring together experts including Simon Clement (ICLEI Europe), Marco Segovia Bifarini (Climate-KIC), and Bart Volkers (Circulair Groningen Drenthe) to discuss how local policies, procurement, infrastructure, and ecosystem support can accelerate circular innovation.

In the afternoon, attendees will take part in the interactive workshop "From barriers to solutions", working together on practical challenges from the perspectives of investors, founders, and policymakers. The event will conclude with a shared reflection session and networking cocktail.

The CircularInvest final event aims to create a practical space for dialogue between stakeholders across finance, policy, entrepreneurship, and local government, helping turn circular economy ambition into scalable action.
